How to Optimize Your Blog for Search Engines

Every day Search Engines like Google send many millions of web users to websites in their index. While there are plenty of Web 2.0 web indexing services around that are increasing in popularity – the fact is that search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN are still the biggest source of traffic to websites on the web.

If you are in wordpress, you don’t even want to worry about SEO. But if in blogger, you have a lot to worry. Anyway, now there are different hacks to optimize SEO for blogger blogs too. You can easily optimize your blogger blog by following these simple steps:-

  1. Add meta tags to blogger:- Adding meta tags is very important if you want to get some good traffic from search engines like Google, yahoo, msn, etc. especially the meta description part is the most important one. Meta tags are the tags which describe your site and tell the search engines what your site is all about. Meta tags allow search engines to index your web pages more accurately. In other words, Meta tags communicate with the search engines and tell more information about your site and make your WebPages index correctly and accurately.

  1. Add a fav-icon to your blogger blog:-   The favicon is the little logo in the address bar next to your url where you normally see the Microsoft logo. When people look at their bookmarks (favorites list) they will be drawn to your web page because of the beautiful logo next to your bookmark.  When you have a favicon installed, your visitors will see your favicon icon. It's a great way to help your site stand out amongst many bookmarks.

  1. Use Quality Content in your post:- In my opinionContent is King”. A website's content, even more so than its products, is what attracts visitors. Quality means that the content should be well written and be free from those embarrassing typos that make visitors wonder if your website really knows what it's talking about. On the other hand, Quality means that your website should be updated regularly with new content added. A visitor may return to an informational article once, or even two or three times, but if your website's content never changes, eventually, there will be no reason for him to return.

  1. Notify Relevant Bloggers of your content:- If you write a quality post on a topic that you know will interest another blogger that it might be worth shooting them a short and polite email letting them know of your post. Don’t be offended if they don’t link up, but you might just find that they do and that in addition to the direct traffic that the link generates that it helps build your own page rank in the search engines.
