I'm going to share to you guys how to optimize your images for search engines using Google Image Search.

So what is Image Search?

Image search is query results, accompanied by thumbnail graphics and supplanted by contextual information, that best match users' search queries.

Optimize your images for search engines:

Although your images which you add in between those texts get indexed, you’re not properly indexing them for search engines. Similar to text content, you can also get traffic from your images. Most of the people care very less about these image traffic, but mind it ! The traffic from the images can go viral and you can easily get into the top positions for image search.
For getting into the good search results on image search for certain keyword, you must optimize them properly.

Here are few tips to optimize for image search…

  1. Always before inserting the images in to your post or article, make sure you name the images with proper keywords if possible.
  2. Using proper keywords in the image name will be acted similar to keeping proper title for the text content.
  3. Also you can use the hyphen as a delimiter.
  4. Always try to prefer for shorter names which are better than longer names.
  5. People tend to search for a keyword no longer than 4 words in image search.
  6. Once you’ve linked the image, make sure you add ALT text keyword.
  7. Never stuff in too much of keywords in the alt text column which will lead to spammer content.
  8. Use captions if at all possible and keep the keywords closer to the front of the caption.
  9. Image size is a major factor determining the SEO of images. So you should make sure that the images are at a reasonable size. It shouldn’t be too small for people finding it hard to see or finding it hard to fit inside the screen.
